Same here. Til this thread came about, I didn't realize we had this many "Bubbas" living and hunting here in Wisconsin. Again, just hard for me to believe that we have this many here that promote shooting any animal illegally and in a manner that makes it suffer unnecessarily. I know I didn't raise my kids that way.

i am ashamed there are people like you out there that are such good little sheep that they do exactly as they are told as they are not able to see what is clearly before them. btw, i take care of feral creatures that are left loose to roam, too.

Since I don't know who you are responding to, I will take this one. I am not "doing as told," I am doing what I think is right. That is not crippling a wild animal to fulfill some lust If I decide to kill a predator...coyote, whatever..I will try to kill it cleanly. I hope to minimize suffering whenever I pull the trigger.
I hope that true sportsmen everywhere do the same. After having read this forum...I am not so sure...

My third reply on this post but com'on guys, I think most of us are flattering ourselves when we speak of head shots, gut shots, etc. 95% of us are just glad to hit a yote at 200 yd much less select exactly where we are going to whack him. Also 95% of us would finish him off or put him out of his misery if we had a chance on a bad shot.
Predators do not kill pretty!! Most deaths are prolonged when predator ie. coyote, hawk, owl, snake, etc. meets prey so lets not get too rightous here and parade our ethics and judge each other!!
In lieu of the above we should be more focused on preserving our gun rights and all be on the same page--teamwork!

It is truely easy to sit back in comfort and hidden by the internet and talk about morals and right . It however is a differen story when it is your land , your crop and your survival involved . The deer in many areas are considered a problem to crops . It seems man got rid of the wolf and had a place for livestock but some other humans that nither raised livestock nor live in the areas got togather and brought the wolf back . WHY ? If they like the wolf they should keep it at their home . Maybe they should take a lead from the RMEF and pay for damages caused by the wolf . There is a RMWF right ? There is a responsible group right ? This wasn't some knee jerk stunt was it ?

Ethics is what you do when nobody is watching. Is your survival dependent upon shooting wolves? I know that for some ranchers, the answer is "yes." I understand.

What is your answer?

ethics, shmethics.

we are not talking about ethical hunting, we are talking about controling a very elusive animal that is devastating to the area it inhabits. which somehow has also become a political issue; so responsible management in a legal fashion is out the friggen window. wisconsin had a management plan in place and when they were delisted, put it into action. then some liberal judge somewhere put an end to it not based on any sound logic, but on emotion alone. we are WAY over healthy population numbers here, an you can argue "ethics" all you want; but it has nothing to do with ethics. i'll not submit to unjust laws and i will encourage the shooting of wolves to keep them in check.

it is one of two choices.... let the anti's and liberal rats who do nothing to protect and preserve the outdoors destroy everything sportsmen and conservation groups have worked for in the last 150 years; or drop the hammer and sss when you have the opportunity.

I dont have a "dog" in this fight but down here, there are laws also that say you cant shoot peoples pet dogs. But there is also a law that says to protect your livestock you can shoot em! Now i'm not one to break standing law, cause after all we are a country of law, not men. That being said even when I shoot a pest on my place, I dont advertise it. I practice SSS and it ends there. So should it be for all "pests" Government protected or not!

Well about 143 posts later, know one has yet to bury those wolves and move on. Their dead for sure, but gettin smelly. Oldshooter it's seems like it's more fun to haggle than to dig.

We'd have to bury them in snow DEE, the ground is frozen several feet down here right now.

But like I said before shooting a wolf is illegal so I'd never do such a thing.
