Ain't that the truth. I was Unit Armorer in the Army...working with M16A1's and then A2's...which is why my personal weapons are homebuilt AK's.

Just fit my barrel last night, and have zero headpace on a sized case as you describe. Trying to decide if I want to make it a bit more generous with a piece of clear tape on the back of the sized .357 case to account for slight changes in rim thickness/crud in chamber etc. Sort of an ersatz "field go guage." As a frame of reference, my steel frame .38 Special rotates the cylinder freely with 2 tape thicknesses and binds the cylinder on 3...and has less than 1000 rounds through it so no frame stretch.
To the guys worried about glue: Don't worry-I'll be using JB Weld--pure magical goodness. Gladdens the heart and lifts the spirits of any self respecting Redneck. Come to think of it, maybe I'd LIKE the Khyber Pass.

Good Idea. I was thinking of leaving amorphous blobs of glue, ugly toolmarks and sloppy fingerprints in the glue as a permanent warning to all that this was a Bubba, shade-tree, gunsmith job...or would you prefer I actually engraved the warning freehand with a Dremel tool? Y'see, I'm really not that good with a dremel tool and my handwriting sucks.
