Without question Sako. No doubt, this is the best out-of-the-box rifle on the market today. No other manufacturer can match the quality of a Sako in overall quality and function of the arm.

I really agree. Of course, the Tikka trigger is the same as the Sako, so when I agree with you that the Sako is the best, to me that includes Tikka.

I had a jewell trigger installed on my Remington BDL SS DM in 7mm-08. I must say that the Jewell trigger is, without question, the finest trigger that I have ever used...and I have used A LOT! However, that not withstanding, the Sako/Tikka comes pretty darn close! The Sako/Trigger is also similarly thin like the Jewell.

Tikka M595 trigger simply amazed me a couple of days ago. I could not tell when the rifle would fire, and as a result, shots were essentially at point of aim. It was a delight.

Next time anyone is in a gunshop that sells them ..squeeze the trigger on a Blaser R93...Sako is a very nice trigger but compared to that not on the same planet . Another very high quality trigger is a properly adjusted Kimber trigger..extremely crisp

The Sako trigger is indeed a great trigger but I found them to be too narrow in width....in other words, I didn't like the way they felt on my trigger finger. My favorite is Remington (after adjustment for weight, creap and over-travel) and especially the Remington XR-100 target trigger...right out of the box they are superb.

I have just purchased my first aftermarket trigger, a Canjar. I doubt I will ever be happy with a factory trigger again

I realize this is an older thread but I have to add in the adjustable trigger on my Steyr Prohunter... errrr is it possible to split the vote? I like the accu-trigger on my Savage 112BVSS 25-06 a lot as well.

I wasn't going to enter an aftermarket trigger into the discussion since the Subject is: Best Factory Trigger, but since someone already had introducted aftermarket triggers I'll put in my opinion as well. I never had the opportunity to use a better trigger than the Canjar trigger. Truly as smooth and finely adjustable as one can hope to experience. It has the ability to be microadjusted and never fails to put a grin on my face. If you want to grin or if you are having a bad day, then go and try a Canjar trigger! Of course, the cost may wipe the grin off of your face.

Yes, I did want to keep this topic on factory triggers because I would like to send the info to Remington. That said, however, I guess that Remington would be interested to know about how we feel about aftermarket triggers.

As for the Canjar, I have never tried it - at least not knowingly. However, I have tried (and own) a Jewell trigger, and I simply can't imagine a finer trigger anywhere in the world.

For those of you who have used both the Canjar and Jewell, which one do you prefer?

I stopped by a good shop yesterday and tried out the accutrigger on a board diaplay. I thought the one on my old Savage was good, well this one is great, and you can't fire the rifle without pulling the accurelease, the sear just can't move more'n 1/8", the protrusion on the accurelease catches it.

But the thing that I don't like about the accu-trigger is that it is essentially 2 triggers in one - you have to pull the first trigger in the middle of the main trigger, and then you have to pull the main trigger itself. Personally, I don't like that. Just get it right the first time and make one good trigger.

Myself I like the accu-trigger a lot. I never had a problem with them and I think they are great. I guess on the same hand I can't expect everyone to like them.

Well it isn't any secret that I am a CZ kinda guy

I like everything about CZ rifles, They are very well made, high quality rifles that I think are a hidden jem. They have really good accuracy and also have the single set trigger which I really like. That trigger is pretty sweet it will allow you to adjust the set pull weight as well as the standard pull weight. I like having my set weight at around 12oz and my standard set at around 2# and it is a very clean, crisp break which is perfect for them hair splitting shots. When the CZ's trigger is in it's "standard" mode I think it has a little more creep than I like to be "perfect" but it is still really good. It is my favorite production trigger out but only because of the set feature. I just got a Tikka T3 the other day and it is my first one. I took it right out of the box and dropped the trigger down to 2# before I even fired it. All I can say about the trigger on it is WOW - that trigger is awesome!!! It does not have the set feature like the CZ but the standard trigger is in a league above the CZ's. It is so smooth and no creep at all, it's breaks so crisp it is amazing. If the T3 had the set feature like the CZ then it would be my favorite but as it stands the CZ trigger is for me.

2#'s is about the lightest walking trigger that I like but when I am looking for extreme accuracy than it's gotta be about a 12oz trigger for me.

Yes I have fired the accu-trigger.

REMINGTON IS THE BEST WHEN ADJUSTED....I ALSO HAVE A TIKKA AND ITS NICE ALSO..
REMINGTON TRIGGERS CAN BE ADJUSTED AS GOOD AS A TIMNEY OR JEWL IM MY OPINION,JUST A CHEEPER VERSION THATS ALL.
I CAN GET ANY A LITTLE UNDER 1 LB,WITH NO CREEP OR OVER TRAVEL AND WILL BREAK LIKE A CHRISTMAS BALL ORNAMIT.

YES THERE GOOD,BUT THE WIDE TRIGGER COVERS MORE OFTHE FINGER MAKING IT SEEM EVEN LIGHTER...BUT BY AL MEANS THEY ARE VERY NICE.

I would vote for a Kimber as having the best factory trigger I've seen in several years. If you take it out of the stock, you'll see that it is basically a copy of a Timney trigger and is adjusted likewise for weight, sear engagement (creep), and overtravel. I've set mine down to 2 # with no creep or overtravel. Can't complain.

Just bought a rem 700 sps youth/compact 308 and one turn of the set screw went from 4 3/4 to 2.5 and crisp.

I was hoping to get about 100 votes to give to Remington, but the many that we have should be enough as a good sampling. I have a trial coming up this week, but I'm going to try to print the votes and responses and give it to Remington as I originally intended. Wow, I can't believe that most people aren't saying CZ?!

There are some dandy triggers out there, but none that I can even compare with the single set trigger from CZ. You can easily crank up the weight of the standard trigger a bit for cold weather hunting, while still having a light set trigger for when you have time to hunker down, take off the gloves, and make that precise shot.

Of the factory and aftermarket triggers I have tried, my vote goes to CZ also. Haven't tried the accutrigger, but have shot most of the rest. The old Remington trigger could be made nice, but there are much better triggers.

When the trigger return spring is replaces in a Wby Mark V (the spring that comes with them is off the front supsension of a mack truck

) then with the weight of pull adjustment and sear enagement adjustment they will usually come down to about 1 pound and not slam fire on an empty chamber. They will often come down to about 10 ounces or so and not slam fore when a case is in the chamber. I assume that the spring loaded ejector acts as a buffer.

Both weight of pull and sear engagement can be adjusted without taking the rifle apart. To replace the trigger return spring the trigger assembly has to be removed.

While it is rather costly.....the Blaser 93 rifle (Sig Sauer) has undoubtedly the finest factory trigger I personally have ever pulled. A keenly crisp 2.0-2.5lbs with ZERO creep. I tried one at the Harrisburg Pa. sports show recently and fell in love....unfortunately I forgot to bring along 3k spending change and went home empty handed.
