No offense, but I suspect that Savage and Tikka deserve the lion's share of the credit for trigger improvements we are seeing in the industry. Inexpensive rifles clearly don't have to come with lousy triggers. In addition to Remington and Ruger(I hadn't heard about the Ruger improvements), CZ has come out with a new trigger and Marlin has been advertising a new, improved trigger for their rimfires for about a year now. I purchased a Vanguard because I wanted a .270 with a 24 inch barrel and heavier weight than most other rifles for a particular kind of shooting. I knew that out of the box, the trigger would probably not be good. I just wish I had known that to get the kind of trigger pull I wanted, it made sense to install an aftermarket trigger.
