Thanks guys,Ive been out of hunting and shooting for the past 9yrs.I was looking at getting back in and out of nowhere my daughter asked about going hunting.I started her a couple of weeks ago with my 10/22 and she surprised me for someone who had never even held a gun,so I put off buying my new Ruger and went and bought her all the gear she needs to hunt.Just picked up the rifle last night. As for having "luck" with a gun,Ive never found one that I couldnt shoot deer with.just need patience at the range and the willingness to say, maybe those high dollar, overloaded shells will not work in this gun or vice versa, maybe the 3.99/bx stuff from Academy aint cutting it.Either way, that will be part of the exprience for my girl, kinda like a project we can do together.Look forward to picking you guys' brains on this thing.BTW,my first gun was a H&R .410 back in 1982 or 1983,I think.I still have it in the closet.
