Well I could not talk him out of the 591 and settled for the Model 592M not a spot on it very pretty wood not sure of the round count on this gun but the extractor has not even had all the blue worn off yet so it can't be many also had a vintage Weaver K3 on it made in Elpaso. I gave him $150 3boxes of the new ammo and 2 loafs of Bannana Nut Bread. A true friend. He still has 6 boxes of the Remmington 38gr HP ammo left with original stickers priced $5.35 - $7.75 can't wait to shoot this thing. Kurt

i think using a ppc case design for a 5mm would result in a super accurate round and just about the ultimate in a varmint gun.

Your are right, some guys on saubier.com have done just that and even made some PPC short. I shoot the 5mm Mag as a converted centerfire and it is real sweet with no recoil, its harder than the 17 HMR and takes the wind a lil bit better. Also have one on an improved Bee case as well as one on a 221 FB case and the big boy 20 BR for them 550 yard shots.

Yes it's in stock. Just ordered 500 rounds for $154.82 Buiers Club price. Can't wait to break out the old REM. 592 and the TC Contender again! I once had a 1000 rounds but sold it in the late 80s for $45.00 a box to one man. Not a bad trade.

Any of you guys who have bought any of this Centurion 5mm ammo have any accuracy issue's with it. I have tried 2 scopes one a K3 weaver and the other an older 3-8 banner. and think I should be getting better groups it is shooting 1" at 50yrd but seems to move around a little have not had optimum shooting conditions yet but been shooting other rifles on same days with no ill effects . The banner was on another rifle before without any issues so I am starting to suspect ammo and was wondering if any one else has seen any problems. Kurt

I was able to shoot some more with the 5mm ammo and had perfect conditions best I could get it to do was under 2" at 100yrds some were right on and others would move out to almost 2" the velosity seemed to jump around some to some were as much as 100fps dif. I'm gona try and talk my buddy out of a box of the old remmington stuff to make sure it ain't the gun. Kurt

Seems to me that there is a solution to the 5mm Rimfire Magnum that is just simply being overlooked here and a really cost effective one at that. Buy an NEF in .204 Ruger, get some reloading books and load a 5mm Mag equivalent load. Instead of the new 30gr. bullet, you might want to use a 32gr. V-Max instead. Figure that your full load at 400 yards is pretty much the same as the 32 gr. at the muzzle for a 5mm Remington Magnum. People download .22 centerfires all the time and I remember Sam Fadala, the writer, used to do that with his .17 Remington. He loaded that down to around 1800fps as I recall. Doing it this way will tell you a whole lot about the 5mm Rimfire Magnum and whether or not you want to invest in it. ---Mike

I have been getting right at 3/4" at 100 yards shooting the centurion ammo. About down loading the 204??? I doubt you can safely get it down to 5mm Mag velocity with only 6 grains of powder... The 5mm mag is a hoot to shoot and I have my 4th one being built (should be done any day now). I couldn't wait on T/C or NEF or anyone else so with a lil luck I stumble on to Eagle View Research and Lowell is making me a custom Contender barrel with a new way of doing the welded lug deal... Now come on CZ!! Sure would like to see NEF bring out a 5 mm Mag barrel!!!

I know I am still in love with my Remmington 592 and now with a good scope on it there is nothing wrong with the new ammo last batch chronoed with in 15 fps average. Kurt
