Cant' speak as to 300 yards, but I've shot at the range in some moderate rains at 100 yards (the benches have roofs over them) and haven't noticed any change in bullet point of impact.

My experience also.  I have shot in some pretty hard rains, out to 100 yds, and the groups were unaffected.  I think I would rather shoot in rain than wind.

I have shot out to 600 yards in moderate rain with 223 in service rifle competions and have seen no impact changes due to the rain. One would think it should have and impact at some point, but none noted in any of the the 10 or so times it has happen to me. Sure makes it easy to read the wind though.

I would speculate that the shockwave from the bullet would preclude it's coming into contact with any rain drops in flight.

Generally speaking, I must agree with all of you guys!
I have shot several deer over the years, while it was raining!

However, back when I was researching stuff about the 17 Remington for my brother, I read somewhere that it would be a waste of time and ammo to fire this cartridge in the rain!
This was due (supposedly) to the fact that the little 25 grain HP going at 4200fps would disintigrate if it were to hit a drop of water!

True or not, I don't have a clue!
