BNoz, I've been using my 3" 4410 for snake control and have shot five so far this summer. It's effective with #8 shot out to about 20 feet max for a one shot kill. I've shot .45 Colt, 000 Buck, and slugs as well at the range and they all tend to shoot low. The recoil on the shot shells is in the .38 Spl range but the buck and slugs kick like a hot .357 Mag. I've seen 6" bbl models for sale but have no feedback on their performance. I've always felt that a shorter barrel handles shot loads better. Other than snakes I don't know what the pistol is good for. As a snake getter I couldn't be happier. Because of the long frame and cylinder it's hard to find a holster that works but I'm getting ready to try something for a 4" S&W "N" frame revolver.
