I put a tried and true B&L 2..5-10 scope on and boresighted it. Finally got to the range today. A few thoughts. These CZ's are pretty heavy. That, the stock design, and the Pachmayr recoil pad add up to negligible recoil. It is fun to shoot. Took two rounds to get approximate zero. Cranked off three rounds with the trigger unset. Shot a little fast. this hot Texas sun heated the barrel pretty quick. Had a vertically strung group of a little over 1". Shot my .22 a while to let the barrel cool. shot three more using the set trigger. Barrel still got hot, but group measured .885". Let it cool again, and tried three more, letting the barrel cool between shots. First two were .435" apart. Third went in second hole. This was using Lapua 139 grain factory loads. Hope I can get handloads to do this well. Thought I had some Winchester 140's. Only had one, so it made a pretty tight group. Overall, I am very pleased with my first CZ. I doubt it will be my last. I can see the set trigger coming in handy for stand hunting or Antelope shooting.
If anybody has any favorite 120, 129 or 140 grain recipes, I would appreciate it. Let you know how it likes reloads when I get some worked up.
