Sorry guys, I don't know anything about it.  Rick put neither a pretty girl or a powder can next to it for scale.

Rick tell us about it!

Absolutely beautiful!

Thought I would attempt to factor size by comparing to the blades of grass-but then, I havn't seen any for months.

The continuity of the color between the skid and the barrel are notable.

     What are the dimentions? Material?

They do shoot Soda Pop cans,  I'm not a beer drinker, so their Pop can shooters for me.

I was trying to get a good photo of the muzzle blast for my new web site upgrade, (comming soon)  360 gr 2ff pyrodex, this is a Kodak 35mm film canister 1/16 of inch from top, shoot a pop can of Ice 745 feet.  Goex 1f same voulume of powder shot the same can 867 feet.  It don't hurt the can much. the Specific gravity of ice is .9, that of concrete is 2.2.  those figures will tell you the weight difference between ice and concrete.

In the photo the colors blend together,  the tube is Black the bed is olive green. I did not like the paint I used so I sandblasted the paint off, and repainted with a better paint.  The sandblasting gives a better texture.

1/2 scale,  the tube is under bored slightly for the pop can.  I will have to look at the demisions tomorrow while at the shop.  will post them later.
The tube is made of 1045 Steel.

I will let you know when the web site is upgraded.  Will have some good photos from Vicksberg,  Charolston SC, and Stones River battlefield in Tenn.  plus other links.

Irishman, the blades of grass is in San Deigo.  My Daughter and Son in law is doing the new site.

Thank you for your support, Rick

Tennis ball diameter (from the rules of tennis):

"In all tests for diameter a ring gauge shall be used consisting of a metal plate, preferably non-corrosive, of a uniform thickness of one-eighth of an inch (.318cm.) in which there are two circular openings 2.575 inches (6.541cm.) and 2.700 inches (6.858cm.) in diameter respectively. The inner surface of the gauge shall have a convex profile with a radius of one-sixteenth of an inch (.159cm.). The ball shall not drop through the smaller opening by its own weight and shall drop through the larger opening by its own weight."

To me shooting tennis balls out of Cannonmakers Mortar would  be akin to dancing with your sister.  It can be done, it works but it just isn't the same as shooting pop cans full of cement.

What I would like to see is someone come up a Popcan diameter round ball mould for casting zinc balls.  Or better yet someone selling popcan diameter zinc balls.  How about it Rick?

Also it's a lot more fun to dance with my wife than my sister. I do like your analigy.
