It sure must be nice to have a super-powered, high-MPG truck that delivers better mileage than any other brand of truck on the road. Further, it's also better than any other Chevy truck that I (and many others) have ever seen or heard of. While we're on the subject of your overly powerful truck, the towing power must be massive too. You must feel so special to have a one-of-a-kind truck like that.

Actually my '04 Z71 averages 21mpg on the highway. Pretty much a stock truck with the 5.3L, just added a K&N Filter and a Flowmaster cat-back. I also know Lloyd well enough that I wouldn't question a single word that comes out of his mouth.

Camel23, I won't try to blow smoke up your butt, you know me to good. My dodge 1500 Ram 5.9 L gets the worst gas mileage of any of the trucks I have ever owned. I get, if I I am lucky 11 MPG but most of the time it is closer to 10 MPG. I am not much of a Ford truck fan and I do like Chevy. But my next truck would be a Dodge 2500 with a Cummings Diesel inline 6 cylinder. I just like the look and feel of them dodges.

Lloyd Smale, I would never have any doubt as to your integrity and honesty. I wish my Dodge would get that good of mileage.

redhawk ive been a chev man most of my life but to be honest i looked hard at the dodges this time when i went shopping. I had driven a hemi and really liked the motor and honestly i think dodge makes the best looking truck on the road right now. Only two things kept me from buying one. First the selection up here was dissmal. OUt of three dealerships they only had 5 hemis and they were selling so well that the wouldnt dicker price. Second was the gas milage. I think the sticker on it said 15 mpg and i know of a few guys that have them and some claim that is optimistic. Ive drove a couple dodge desiels and they are a hell of a stout truck. Problem with those desiels with me is you have to take a second morgage out to buy one. No doubt though between all of the big three the diesiels are the class of the field.

camel i think the reason yours does better then mine is the fact that its so clean and all the wax makes it more aerodynamic!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like someone has their panties in a bunch. Hey pal, if you to embellish the truth I tend to view any following statements with some skepticism. To top it all off, the you made grandiose claims about your vehicle and that "It will blow any ford 4x4 off the road". This is pure BS anyway you look at it. You make a person question which, if any, of your statements are factual or if they are myth, hype, wishful thinking or just plain BS. If the truth hurts, it's not my fault. You made the statements.

Okay MI VHNTR, you won the spelling contest. Three cheers for you Mr. Education. I would be more than happy to drop the flag for you boys if you want to line them up. I'll give you each a gallon of gas and we'll have a twenty mile race.

I bet the Chevy will be ahead by atleast two miles at the finish line. I will also say that it would beat a F1 Ferrari by even more. I've never been beat by a Ferrari with a full tank of gas either though.

he isnt worth it Camel. Some people will never learn. Lots of bad asses on computers pal. Cut the kid some slack he doesnt know me from Adam. If he did you know he would have never said what he said. Hopefully he will remove that chip from his shoulder before somebody helps him do it.

Idk about toughness but i picked up a 91 chevy tahoe s-10 a few years back,put a good set of tires on it and some weight in the back and it gets around better in rough,steep,slippery,muddy,sidehill, terrain than any of the full size blazers or suburbans i have driven,it will make sharper turns than any other rig i have had in the hills and that makes all the difference when your driving the stuff i drive.

While we can all argue the attributes of Ford vs. Dodge vs. Chevy etc. Thee world's toughest and most adept 4X4 is the Mercedes Unimog.

I still vote for the UNIMOG. Up to twenty forward gears, double cabs available, nearly two FEET of ground clearance stock, some versions have 20 ton tow ratings, PTO winches, tilt beds, portal hubs, shift on the fly, lockers front and rear. Quite arguably the toughest 4x4 on the planet.

My vote would also be for the Dodge. My first truck was a 2001 Ram 1500 Sport with a 5.9lt. I never had a problem with it until one snowy day when two vehicles plowed into it. Even then I was still able to drive it home. Unfortunetly, my autobody place of chioce did a poor job at repairing it and I was forced to replace it with a 2004 Ram 1500 SLT with the 5.7lt. As much as I liked the first truck, I absolutely love the second.

The one I drive right now,97 f150 4x4 almost all stock except for underdrive pulleys from bbk and dual exhaust from the cats. back with no mufflers,it has totalled two other vehicles(not my fault and was able to drive from the scene.) killed 3 deer and been rolled over once.It has 176,000 miles on it and doesn't burn any oil at all,The only major mech. issue was I had to get the transfer case and front end re-built.right now I have to replace the donut gaskets on the exhaust manifolds no biggie.fords are tuff I really like the new powerstroke diesels with the dual turbo's.

Might not be the toughest or the fastest but you cant complain about 26.5 MPG. GM 3.1 v6/ 5 speed. Lots of room, 4200lbs and will go through anything that gets in your way. Good ground clearance. The only thing i can complain about is the 4ply tires we put on it

Has close to 170,000 miles and still going strong.

My '78 GMC may not be the toughest but it's no slouch. It's not cheap to drive, 14 mpg, but I only remember having to turn around and go back once. The trees were too close together. It is a K1500 short wheelbase with HD suspension, 400 cid V8. auto trans, and full time 4 wheel drive. It also has the street coupe option. I bought it new and it has been a good truck.

I would go with the Toyota. I had chevy's and fords they didn't even come close on what I put my toyota through. Had to pull out quite a few fords gutless wonders.

Let me tell you a little story about Ford design and structural integrity. Last year a friend of mine was driving his family of 5 to church in his King Ranch F250 4x4. It was new, good tires, etc. It had rained a little earlier that morning. As he accellarated up the onramp, he went into a skid and entered the highway backwards. Truck crossed 2 lanes and entered the median. When the tires hit the grass, they took a bite and she flipped, skidding on the roof. As it slid, the roof pillars folded sideways and the roof flattened to the tops of the seats on the passenger side, but folded inward, in a "V" above the middle rear seat. Four of them walked away. They had to bury one of his 11 yr old twin girls who was in the middle of the rear bench. His lawyer says Ford has known about the problem for some time and that neither Dodge or GM have it. He drives a Dodge now.
