Guys

Thanks for all the good Info I will keep all in mind .But came across a deal that I could not pass up.Bought a Savage 110 Combo at Wally World in 270 Win today for 200.00 + Tax.So I guess now I have a medium bore now I can talk Momma in to a 22.250 for Yotes.

But might have to wait till after the frist of the year>I do think I might pick up a better scope tho.

Thanks to All

I would definitely upgrade the scope of the 110 combo. The 110 package features a low-end scope (thus the low-end price). It does have decent rings and bases, though. You can get a good Bushnell Elite 3200 or Burris Fullfield II on Ebay for less than $200. They are sharp, reliable scopes without the bells and whistles of scopes costing twice that much. That's my recommendation.

BTW, $200 for a Savage 110 .270 is a steal, with or without optics! You will love the .270 with 130 grain bullets for deer and coyotes. A little more gun than you needed, but if you ever want to do elk, moose, black bear, etc., you are good to go. Enjoy!8)

Darn it!  I had to give $250 at the Wally World for mine!  Sounds like it might be the same gun.  Savage 110 FXP .270 black synthetic stock?  Mine shot less than 1" groups at 100 yards with 130 gn winchester silver tips as well as 150 gn remington corelots.  What's interesting to me is both shot the same point of impact!

Until you get the 22.250, you might give the 100 grain a try for varmits.  I've got mine zeroed for the deer season, but plan on switching to 100 grains shortly afterward.  I intend to hand load, but haven't yet......

I did lightly hone the trigger and sear, changed the spring, and adjusted the trigger.  Not as light as I like, but made a huge difference, and no creep.  I've read a couple of article about case hardening and whether to hone or not to hone, and I didn't have to take off much to get rid of the creep.

You think if I take this post to Wally World they'll give me $50 bucks back?
