scouts way back when, and in jr high and
high school, then at work etc.
Red Cross courses in between etc.
A lot has changed as far as treatment
methods, so it's important to stay up
to date. When I first started learning,
the recommended snake bite treatment
was the "tourniquet" and slash and suck,
and the heart stoppage was the chest
pounding, drowning, etc. etc.
Somehow today, the popular bleeding
treatment is a tourniquet regardless of
the degree of bleeding.
They're still and always have been the
thing for arterial spurting blood and
not the cure-all.
I would imagine that that got started
by a movie or television hero, or on
yoofloob.
