Bleeding emergency

Don't forget to have compresses and bleed stopper
powder in your home and vehicles and any ruck
or vest or coat you're wearing out in the bush.
Same for out on a boat.

I had what should have been a minor booboo
today, a cut about an 1/8 inch or less, but it
happened to hit a vein. Blood was steadily
flowing, and I couldn't get it to stop with a
towel I grabbed up and pressure.
I happened to have an envelope of the
Bleedstop brand powder sitting nearby and
went out on the porch so if the EMT's needed
to be summoned I would be laying right there
where they could get to me ASAP.
No need.
The slightest bit of that powder stopped
everything.
Sure worth the few dollars it cost me.
And it was out of date by a few years.
Still worked like a champ.


Stop by wherever you can and have some
on hand and HANDY for the unplanned
unpleasantness.

i carry a first aid kit and a trauma kit in all my cars, trucks, atvs and motorcycles. as much to help others if i come across a wreck as to help myself. matter of fact in the car trucks and jeep where there is room i carry 2 of each. habit ive had since my early 20s after getting injured in the service and am alive because someone had supplies and knew how to use them. as important as having them EVERYONE should take training to use them and training in cpr. most colleges and hospital have free training courses for basics

Yes thanks for the info. I was never familiar with the bleed stop product. My parents never had it, and neither have I. Sounds definitely like something to have in the home.  All the safety training, CPR training, and first aid training my employer required. That product was never mentioned. For a bad cut it was just always bandages and direct pressure, or a tourniquet.
