What else is interesting is there were also no Jews after 70 AD (just shy of 2000 years ago). Fewer than 100,000 Judeans were left after the utter destruction of Jerusalem, many of them had intermarried with Edomites, and they were scattered and banned by Rome from returning. Josephus records that Jesus prophecy of the 7 demons returning to the empty house came true after the 2nd temple was emptied by His death. Judah fell into depravity worse than Sodom, Gomorrah or the days of Noah - its as if 7000 devils entered the temple, according to Josephus, a Jew who was alive at the time and recorded the history. They subsequently abandoned the Torah for the Talmud, and have not practiced Godly worship since (their history, not my words). Christians should probably read the Talmud since that is the primary text of modern Judaism.
Between the disappearance of the 10 tribes with God's judgement on the northern kingdom of Israel, and the final judgment (as prophesied by Jesus multiple times) of Judah in 70 AD, it's no wonder fewer than 2% of Israelis today have even a trace of Hebrew blood, according to their own DNA studies. According to that same study, palestinians had a higher percentage of hebrew/semitic blood than most Israelis. So if we're basing it off religion, or blood, its a crap shoot.
At least as Christians we know that the promise was always by faith, not blood; that the sons of Abraham are sons of faith, who like Abraham looked forward to the promise of Jesus, and we are counted amongst them if we live by faith today. There will be no Jews or Muslims in the new Jerusalem, only Christians.
