This isn't a easy question.  To many to choose from but the one I grab when it counts is my 40 year old .300 Weatherby Mark V Deluxe.  More like an old friend then a rifle.  Lawdog

Good question.
For the larger calibers, I like the Winchester Model 70. I own two in .375 H&H. This gun works well for me in handling the recoil, its pointing and handling qualities, and for me the Model 70 is sized correctly for this caliber.
For your average calibers (up to and including the .35 Whelen), I like the Ruger Model 77 stainless synthetic. These point well, are light and compact and handle the recoil of these cartridges well for me. Mine are in .308 Win. and .30-06.

That is a tough one.  if i had to pick it would be my a-bolt 300 win mag.  the gun shoots like a dream and has never let me down.  my a-bolt .22-250 is also one that comes to mind.

I'd have to pick my custom-built 358 Norma Mag. Other than that one, then it would be my Model 70 338 Win. Mag.

In a bolt action it is my Savage 114U .30-06. This gun was a real surprise to me. It is extremely accurate for a factory gun. My overall favorite is probably my Ruger 10/22 carbine. That little gun is a blast to shoot.

It's a toss up between 2 rifles of the same make. Both are J.C. Higgins, built on FN 98 actions. Both have Bold triggers, set to 3lbs. Both shoot great, but the 270 shoots better. The only ammo that I've shot through it thus far that won't group 7/8 of an inch is Remington. The 30-06 is an 1" rifle. I've used both to take game, and used the 270 to take an Elk this year. The 30-06 however was in my hands when I made my best shot I've ever made on a game animal. I was climbing up through some Rimrock at 6500 ft and jumped a 3x4 Muley out of his bed, and just like that dropped him. It happened so fast I can hardly recall the shot. Right behind the shoulder, perfect shot. Both guns fit me great, and frankly, I could probably hunt the rest of my life and never need another gun with those 2.

But, I've got another, to rebarrel to either 338-06, or 35 Whelen.

Remington Sendero 300 WM, Timney trigger  with Bushnell Elite 3200 4x12. Shoots 1" groups all day at 200 yards with 200 gr. Nosler Accubond at 2950 fps. Great rifle and load. Heavy but worth every ounce for accuracy.

Definitely my pre-64 Model 70 Winchester in .30-06. There is something about that rifle that gets under your skin. It feels good, it smells good, it shoots good, it sounds good.
