I've never owned a motorcycle of any kind, have ridden dirt bikes from time to time, but have grown up on four wheelers.  I have a rancher 420 that i use every now and then.  Been thinking hard about a Yamaha TW200.  Could drive it to work, which is about 5 miles.  We have a state forest here that is huge and about 15 minutes from my house.  It has trails that you have to have a permit to ride, but no riding on the roads.  There are miles and miles of roads surrounded by public hunting land.  I figure if the bike is street legal, i should be able to ride it on the roads, since they are public.  This would open up plenty of land to small game hunt for cheap on a bike.  Anyone on here have one?  Not looking for a cruiser, just something fun.  Trying to justify it.  Honestly i think i'd use it way more than my four wheeler.

 I think it would perfect for short trips to the woods. Only issue I see is how are you going to carry your gear? And what if you shoot a big critter? guess you could build a small lightweight cart and hitch?

What are you going to hunt with, can you legally and safely transport the weapon of choice. You didn't mention where you live but 15 minutes of riding with a firearm over your back is going to get some attention you might not want and mounting a scabbard on that 200 might be tricky.

saw where someone modded a kolphin case on one.  Also have a few take down guns or maybe hunt with one of my handguns.  Would be kinda pimp looking like chuck norris with heat strapped on my back huh?  Mostly small game was what i was thinking.

I believe it would work fine for small game hunting.  you could carry a single barrel shotgun or 22. Or best yet like you said a revolver & backpack.
You don't need much for emergency gear. Most folks carry way too much junk anyway. If you ride then you half to go with the basics.
As far as theft, don't leave the key in it.

I think it would work great, and have been considering it myself. Bungie cords and gun cases make transport a non issue, and backpacks or saddlebags can aide a lot.
I saw a guy drag a whitetail out by the hind legs with an older 250 Yamaha street or dirt bike. It was quiter than a four wheeler and didn't really seem to be workin very hard.

My brother loves his TW200. He calls it "the fat girl". He rides it everywhere, just likes it's personality. He has other dirt bikes too, but the one he'll never part with is that goofy Yamaha.
