This doesn't really answer your question, but I've found every .270 Remington I've shot to have a truly obnoxious recoil. My Howa was much better. But when I accepted the offer to try a fellow shooter's Tikka .270 at the range, I was shocked: felt almost the same as my .223! While there are some differences in loads, barrel length, etc., here, it's clear to me there's a significant difference in Tikka's stock design that favors me, at least.
In my opinion, despite my fondness for the accuracy of my Savages, Tikka and Howa are the best guns for the money. For me, the choice would probably come down to feel and price difference.
