To make sure I understand correctly, you are cutting the petals off a 410 shot wad to make a gas seal, then placing 410 filler wad on top of the gas seal and topping it off with an inverted 9MM case with lead in the base to make a weight forward slug? The paper patch is to make the "bullet" tight in the bore? If you leave the petals on the 410 shotcup and insert the inverted 9mm brass is it fairly undersize? If I tried this I would probably forget I filled the 9mm cases with lead then destroy my 9MM size die decapper pin.

Neat idea!
Any thoughts of using an expander to flare the mouth of the brass so it would act as the gas seal?
