i shoot a Win. mod. 70, 300 Rem. Ultra Mag.  I used to shoot the 7mm Rem. mag and like the 300 alot better.  i used it for deer this season with 180 grn. trphy bonded Fedral Safari rounds, i thought it would be overkill but both deer i killed wern't shot up at all,  i haven't tried any other ammo for it because that's all the store had.  i plan on using it on moose and elk in the future.

Remington 700 BDL SSDM in 7mm Rem Mag.  Extremely accurate and flat shooting.  This is the only rifle I own that I have shot groups under 1/2 of an inch at 133 yards.  I used 175 grain Hornadys and IMR 4350.

Trevor,

My most accurate bigger caliber is my Winchester M70 from Clark's in .450 Marlin.  It will group 350 gr. Barnes X bullets under a half inch with no problems.  I was pleasantly surprised at just how accurate this rifle/cartridge combo really is.     Lawdog

My best shooter is a SAKO Finnlight in 270.  Out of the box the rifle will shoot 1/2" groups.  With reloads it will do even better.

I also have a TIKKA 30-06 that will shoot about 3/4" groups with factory loads.  This is about the best bang-for-your-buck rifle you can find.  Look at these very close because you will not find a cheaper rifle that can out shoot this one.

My 270 WSM is a great shooter and will shoot just under 1".  This rifle is a Browning Abolt.

If you have the money I strongly suggest the SAKO.  You can get a Finnlight in 300 WSM.  I would think the recoil would be on the heavy side because the rifle is light.  The WSM line is here to stay!!!

I have a Savage 116 with a stainless steel action and fluted barrell with a factory muzzle brake. This is a 300 RUM and it's an extremely accurate shooter.

I thought we were talking "big caliber"????   I don't see anything above .30 caliber mentioned above.  "Big" to me means "big" and .30 caliber just does not meet that definition.   Lets talk .338, .35, or .375.

Took my Savage model 12 in 300 WSM/accutrigger out a few weeks ago and 3 shot groups measured 3/4 inch center to center at 150 yards.  This is a from the box with no modifications rifle.

Believe it or not, my most accurate bigger caliber gun in my .375H&H Mag - it can shoot groups as tight as 1/4" AND SMALLER at 100 yards!!!!

It is a Winchester Classic Stainless with a McMillan stock, pillar and glass bedded, barrel is free-floated, it has an action job, and a trigger job with a pull of 3 pounds.

With regular Federal 300 grain Hi-Shocks, it literally almost shoots 3 bullets in the SAME HOLE!  With 300 grain Nosler Partitions, it is still well under 1/2"!  People, this is hard to believe, but I'm telling you it's true!

I am an accuracy freak.  As such, I lugged my .375 this year for hogs.  Bad thing is, although it is VERY accurate, it is devestating on game.  I shot one hog and it literally blew up in half. (Granted it was just a little 30 pound pig, but my .375 is the only gun I had at the time.)

Still, my .375H&H is the most accurate bigger caliber gun I have!

I have a 35 whelen in a Ruger 77 and a 350 rem mag in a clasic 700. It depends which load in which rifle as far as accuracy goes. The 350 likes 200 grn sierras and the 35 likes 225 grn. Nosler bt's

My Shiloh Sharps 45-70 and my Sako 375H&H. Both shoot extremely well and very accurate. Also my new Tikka in 300 Win Mag shoots very good as well.  :D

I have a Rem. 700 Sendero in 300 Win. Mag. It is a big, heavy rifle and shoots very well. The recoil is manageable.

"Big" is in the mind of the shooter.  And my "biggest" caliber is my Sako 7mm.  For me, an average shooter, it groups a little under an inch @ 100.

375 HH on a 30# pig? wowza lol. I'd have love to seen it

I have a BLR in 450 marlin that shoots 1" at 100 yards. Just received a Ruger 375 HH but wont be able to shoot it for a few weeks. I hope it will be a good shooter!

I've got a 338 on a Win action that is about 5-6 years old that shoots under one inch easily.  Also picked up a 375 H&H on a CZ that I just took to the range for the first time today, shot a whole box into a 1-1/2" group.  For first time out that isn't bad, with proper load/ammo, I expect the group to get even smaller.

Sticking to bolt guns, my largest is my 20+ year-old Ruger M77 in 7mm Rem Mag.  Shoots 0.5" at 100.  My buddy has a newer M77 MKII, also in 7mm Rem Mag, and it shoots 0.4" at 100.

My Rem M700 in .35 Whelen will put 3 shot clover leaf groups all day at 100 yds if I do my part! My Rem M700 SS BDL in .300 RUM still needs a bit of tuning but you can cover most groups with a quarter. I still need more practice with it but it's tough to get to the range around here.. :(  CEJ..

My customized Rem 700-7 Mag will shoot .25 at 100 yards with AA3100 powder and 150 grain ballistic tips.  It wears a Leupold Vari X III 6.5 x 20 which is a big part of being able to shoot those groups.

All my guns shot sub MOA groups but My favorite is the 03A3 that I got from dad when he passed. I learned to shoot with it - watching it evolve as I grew and then making the final mods to it myself. I remember it coming home and my dad opening it up. He spent a lot of time getting the cosmoline out of all the nooks and crannies. A couple of years later he bought a semi-finished stock and made it look good rubbing oil into that stock for as long as it would take it.I will probably pass it on to my kids one day but for now it is a little bit of Dad helping me put bullets where they belong.

I need to add my Browning  338 Win Mag as a tack driver and my CZ 550 Safari Magnum in 416 Rigby as a great shooter. But I have to say as PaulS did. Almost all my guns  shot sub MOA groups.  :D

My most accurate "big" gun is my only one. A winchester m70 in 325WSM. Shoots 200gr Speers into a little over an inch all day. Will shoot 150gr plinkers into half that.

You're not going to believe this, but my best shooting rifle, regardless of caliber, is my .375H&H Mag.  Using plain jane 300 grain Federal Hi Shock ammo, it shoots under 1/4" groups!   I'm telling you, it's absolutely amazing.  The first time I shot the gun, I thought that I must have completely missed.  Then when I went to look at the target, you could barely see that there were actually three bullets in that one hole!  AMAZING.

Craig Boddington once had an article on a .375H&H, and one particular rifle shot 1 hole groups - something like 1/8" groups - like mine.

My rifle is a customized Winchester Classic Stainless Safari.  It has a McMillan stock, free floating barrel, glass bedded action, trigger job, and jewelled bolt.

Now, after about 3 shots, my groups open up - probably because of the heated barrel, but more than likely because of my bruised shoulder. :)

My 416 Rem. makes one hole at 150 yds with 400 gr bullets. My 375 shoots a 3/4" hole at 150 yds. My 338 RUM shoots a 1" hole at 150 yds. My 300 Rum shoots a 3/4" hole at 200 yds. My other rifles do just as well.
They are all shooters. :D
