My Savage with Accutrigger in 300 WSM will outshoot anything else on my fairly extensive gunrack.  For Half the price, too!

I have a Tikka Whitetail Hunter in 300 win mag. and it shoots very well.  You would'nt want to shoot it all day off a bag because it is fairly light.  The trigger is easy to adjust and overall quality is very good.  From what I understand Tikka and Sako are made at the same plant on the same line.  For a larger bore 45-70 is great if you get a good lever gun you can load it pretty hot if needed.  With a strong single shot action(Ruger or similar) you can load it way hot.  Very close to 458 mag.  Wow does that make your eyes spin.  It is very versatile at moderate range.

This gun has shot sub-moa with inexpensive ammo right out of the box.  It isn't better than my Tikka's T3, but pretty impressive for a thumper.  Recently took it on a spring bear hunt and it thumped a 400lb bear.  Very good for a full stock 20" barrel.  He went straight down and never moved!   Buckfever

My 1977-vintage Marlin 1895 45-70 could shoot .7" 5-shot 100-yard groups with the old Hornady 300 grain hollow point and an early 1980's batch of IMR4198.  Haven't gotten 'er that good since, generally just over an inch with the new Hornadys and H4198.  I got the 260 grain Nosler Accubonds to shoot just under an inch in my Winchester M70 Classic Stainless .375 H&H.

All of my rifles shoot under 1/2 MOA on the internet. ::)

Mine is a Ruger M77 All weather in 350 Remington Mag., 4.5x12x40 Nikon Buckmaster scope, Rifle Basix trigger. I load 180 grain Hornady Interloks over Reloader 7 to about 3000 fps (published data). It'll shoot MOA or slightly bigger at 100 yards, depending on how I'm doing that day. About 3" groups at 200 yards with about a 5" drop.

I've always wanted a .350, but it must not be very popular. I hardly ever see it mentioned in the forums. It's my favorite rifle. I bought it for hogs, and have never had one take a step after being hit.

Most of you guys won't believe what my best BIG caliber rifle is.  Heck, this particular rifle is my MOST accurate of ALL of my rifles in ANY caliber.

It's my .375 H&H Mag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, you read right.  I bought a Winchester Classic Stainless in .375 H&H and customized it - moderately.  I put in a McMillan stock, had it glass and pillar bedded.  Trigger job, free floated barrel, and jewelled bolt.

As for accuracy, are you ready?

3 shots at 100 yards...... less than 1/4"!  Heck, I even put 2 bullets in the same hole at 1/8"!!!!

Again, you read right.  And to make matters even more interesting, these groups are with plain jane Federal 300 grain Hi-Shock round nose loads.  With 300 gr. Federal Premium Noslers, the groups open up a bit, but are still under an inch.

Also, after shooting about 9 rounds, my groups open up to about an inch, and even a bit more.  But hey, after shooting 9 dang rounds from a powerful .375 H&H, and from the bench, the pain really gets to you so I'm surprised that I can keep 3 bullets within 1 foot! :D

I once read an article by Craig Boddington, and he posted results from a .375H&H that were similar, if not even better, than mine.  I thought he was full of it, but now I believe him.

And, BTW, the scope that I use is a Bushnell Elite 3200 1.5x-4.5x-32mm Firefly, which obviously can withstand the recoil of the .375 H&H AND hold its zero perfectly.

Now, find me even a varmint gun that can shoot like my .375 H&H!  (at least the first 2 shots).  :D

I would have to say that all my rifles are highly accurate. Most will put one bullet on top of the first at 200 yds.

My most accurate larger caliber is my 70's vintage Remington M700 BDL in 7mm Rem Mag!

This will print 154 grainers into groups that can be covered with a dime!

The largest caliber I own/shoot is a .300 wsm in a Win Model 70. I have shot a "best" 3 shot group that measured .332" with 165 gr Nosler BT and H-380. However .... most of my goups are in the .600" to .750" range. I am pleased with it's performance.

I have two larger caliber rifles that shoot very well.
1] Ruger Model 77 Stainless Sporter in .338WM. It is scoped with a Leupold Rifleman scope, 2-7x. I use it on 3x. I load 250 grain Hornady spire bullets over 65 grains of DuPont IMR 4350. At 200 yards this is capable of easily keeping the offhand shots inside 10 inches, and I have several sitting (unsupported field position) groups of 6 or more you can cover with the palm of your hand.
2] Winchester Model 70 Safari Express in .375 H&H. Wears 2 3/4 power Burris scope. Whether it has the Hornady 270 grain spire or the Hornady 300 grain RN over 76 grains of DuPont IMR 4350, the results are ditto the above.
Reading around the internet and perusing some tomes and passages by published "pro" shooters past and present, it seems these cartridges are well recognized as accurate, and I would not be able to disagree.

I have a question about those 180 grain  Hornady  Interlock. Are they SS pistol bullets designed for .35 Remington in Contender barrels, or are they designed for full scale rifle performance?

Win 70 338 Win mag shoots 250 grain Nosler into 1 to 1 1/4 all day long and a back up to this is a 35 Whelen in a 7600 Remington that will put a 250 in to 3/4 to 1 inches from day one with most loads.

Yes, they are the 'SS' bullets. I have not had any indications that they will not hold up to the velocity.

Savage 116 in 300 win mag.  it loves 165gr Hornady interbonds.  However any bolt rifle you buy should shoot better than 2" groups straight out of the box, some much better (they may be picky about bullets), if I got one that wouldn't shoot that well I'd sell it and start over.

I have a Weatherby Accumark in 300 Weatherby Mag that I have been very happy with for many years but then I bought a Kimber in 300 WSM that will outshoot it. Needless to say, the Kimber got all the use last elk season.

Mine is my Model 70 Winchester 300 mag with McMillan stock and stainless steel broughton barrel.  Exstreamly accurate off the bench. often 3 holes touching if I do my part. The rifle is more accurate then I am.

Winchester Classic Stainless Model 70 in .300 Weatherby/HS Persicion stock/Leupold VariX III 4.5 X 14/Warne Premier QD bases @ rings.

Shoots several different brands of factory ammo into 3/4" or less everyday and shoots 4 different handloads into 1/2".

When traveling I carry another scope (Leupold VariX III 2.5 X 8, mounted in Warne QD's and sighted in) ready to snap into place in case of a problem........this has never happened....but it makes me feel better.

This rig shoots great, ALWAYS gets the job done.
