Sometimes Ya Just Get Lucky!

Got this one this morning while they were dining in the corn field.  These crows are so cagey you seldom ever get a shotgun shot and never a second chance.   I just grabbed the closest 223 which was the Handi, loaded with 62 grain SCFMJ.   Paced this one off - from the garage to the bird was 349 paces.  (I probably deserve the cheesy smile)  ;D

I didn't realize there was a universal Handi success thread, maybe Tim'll move it there then.  Thanks and I'll remember for future adventures!  Worse thing of it all my neighbor thinks I staged it.  Now I'll have to do it again.

I got a crow a while back with my .308 and a 168 gr. Winchester Supreme Silvertip at a known distance of 310 yards.  At the time, I was more than pleasantly surprised since it wasn't a rested shot..  It kinda scattered the crow ::)   Another time, I lined up two at about 75 yards and fired my .357 maxi and blew up both of them.  A third crow was along side them and was flopping on the ground.  A second shot took care of him.  All I can imagine is pieces of the other two or bullet fragments wounded him.

Billy - You can just post the photo and info regarding the shot on the Handi success thread, and also keep this little happy thread for your lonesome.  That's a great shot, was it staged?  ;) :D   Just funnin yah.  Next time you do this make sure, you have ten witnesses, and a notarized form attesting to the distance.  ;D

 Nice job! I thought I was doing somthing wrong. For now on I will use the 223 ;)
