Ironglow, we must remember that there are no "denominations" in the Bible so I can understand your thinking. As far as the catholics, and I can only speak to the ones I know, they are not big on studying the Scriptures themselves and only know what the priest or the Vatican tells them to know. Of course that was true when only the Vatican had the Scriptures and it could also be said about most people who call themselves Believers today. That was the big wake-up call for me when I began reading the Bible for myself instead of allowing someone else to tell me what it said. Wow! Big difference:)

He means, allah is greater than the G-d of the Bible. We can sure see how they could be worshiping the false god, hasatan, "the adversary", because everything they believe describes our enemy who wants to be G-d. The catholic church believes that the pope is G-d, and Mary is higher than Jesus. These are facts in their own writings. Obviously, most catholics are not aware of this. The "christian church" does not believe that way of course and tend to go along with the Jewish beliefs of the one G-d except for some who practice the erroneous doctrine of "replacement theology", that the "church" has replaced Israel as G-d's Chosen. I challenge anyone to find that in G-d's Word. G-d has made an eternal promise to the Jews, that He will never change His mind. He has made an eternal covenant with the Jews and He is not capable of breaking that covenant. When the Jews fail to keep His Torah, His "instruction" manual, just as He warned them many times, "Choose the blessings or the Curses", He has to punish them. BUT, He will never desert them or give up on them. Notice that 100% of end times prophecy concerns the Jews and Israel. Notice that Messiah will return to ISRAEL, not the vatican or Nashville. Notice that the New Jerusalem will come to Israel, notice that G-d's Presence will dwell on the earth again in Israel, etc, etc, etc. The entire Bible is about G-d's relationship with Israel.

The Talmud is commentary on the Torah so a true Torah Jew can be a "Talmudist" also and most of them are.

The "settlements" you speak of are self contained cities of 10's of thousands of people that have been there for some 40 or so years in many cases, restored cities over the old JEWISH cities which were destroyed some 2000 years ago. How many "settlements" are in your state huh?
Just realize if the Jews and arabs, "blow each other off the face of the earth" as you say, there would be no reason for the earth and YOU to exist any longer since G-d would have no reason to fulfill His prophecies to restore the world to the conditions He created in the beginning. Beerbelly; one should remember "the land and the promise".. That little plot of land called Israel has historically been fought over probably more than any other similar sized plot in the world. It is the crossroads of the eastern hemisphere, armies and navies from three continents have fought over it. The land has been promised to one people, who took posession of it about 3,500 years ago..squatters didn't like it when the folks with the deed and title showed up, even though the rightful owner had left an occupying remenant to hold it for them.

Yellowtail, Israel's biggest problem is that they try to be like every other nation. G-d warned them about that. Israel has lots of problems and most of them are their own making and internal. The thing that must always be considered about the actions of Israel is that they are being forced to defend themselves against basically every nation in the world. There are 1.3 billion muslims out there who would love to see them destroyed and every Jew killed. Think of that, every Jew killed. A whole people wiped off the face of the earth. Would you allow that of any people? That isn't even considering all of the other nations besides the 55 muslim nations, who are constantly trying to hurt them with boycotts, lawsuits, UN sanctions and the like. That isn't considering every member of the World Council of Churches who are consistently divesting their enormous wealth away from any company that does business with Israel. They have a U.S. president who tells them they are not supposed to build an additional room on their house for that new baby. They are not supposed to have a garden in the back of the house. They can't improve the carport and make it into a garage. They can't build a new school or hospital or clinic or kindergarten because of a U.S. president who tries to dictate to them in even the smallest item. Kinda puts a new slant on things doesn't it? Some ignorant people complain about the money the U.S. "gives" to Israel. But the truth is that the greatest majority of the money that Israel receives comes from loan guarantees from the IMF, not tax payer dollars. Any money it receives from the U.S. has always had a stipulation that 75% of it must be spent on U.S. armaments. Think of the U.S. jobs that provides. I might add that the arms Israel buys from the U.S. are taken to the Israel Military Industries and improved with Israeli technology and then that technology is given back to the U.S. Yes, modern Israel is G-d's chosen nation state because it is fulfillment of His prophecy. Simple as that. If you believe in G-d then you must believe what He says about His chosen people Israel.

That's as much support as we can afford. As far as fighting radical Islam, the whole world is pretty much doing that now, we can do that from here. Start with Detroit...if they want to. Somehow that turned into radical Islam cause we were not paying attention.
It's coming to a head sooner or later, might as well get the troops here, fight both illegals crossing the borders and radical Islam both at the same time.

Re: billions in aid. In a previous post I noted that the "aid" Israel receives is IMF loan guarantees that have all been paid back up to date. Any other "aid" that Israel receives has to be used to purchase U.S. military products at the rate of 75% of the aid. The Israelis then improve the U.S. military equipment with their technology and then the technology is given to the U.S. The U.S. is making out very well in dealing with Israel as well as keeping U.S. employees working. Maybe you should worry more about the billions of dollars the U.S. have given free gratis to the muslim terrorists in Israel since Reagan that is used to teach several generations of kids on how to kill Jews and Americans in their schools and fatten the wallets of the terrorist dictators. Maybe you should consider checking your facts before you single out Israel to condemn.

In the verses in Joel that you quoted, the litteral translation from the Hebrew says, "I will gather all of the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat...." The Valley of Jehoshaphat is an ancient name for Har Megiddo, commonly known as Armegeddon. This verse is referring to the "Battle of Armegeddon" where the nations which come against Israel will be destroyed.
