I thought of doing that Lee- but then thoguht 2 things- #1- one truck had a receiver, the other didn't- so wanted it interchangeable, then thought #2- if i made it on a base, i could mount it in the shed if wanted.
so I was trying to come up with some sort of base that wouldn't tip over, and I got the hmmn. what it I parked on it?
no pixs, and buried in snow- but very simple.
i took 3/4 pipe (I think close to that) cut 2 10 " pieces and 2 24" pieces and welded then into a rectangle.
I then took a 2' piece of 1 1/2 inch pipe, cut out the sides so it fit over one of the 10" pipes, centered it, and welded it.
Because I thought this might be weak point, I welded 2- 2' pieces of 3/4 inch pipe at an angle to the 1 1/2 pipe, about 8-10 inches up for legs- these came into play all the time, so worth doing I think- put the threaded ends down, add a cap and you got adjustable legs (I thoguht i was pretty clever when I got THAt idea)
I then took a 5 foot piece of 1" pipe, threaded end up, and slipped that into the 1 1/2 inch upright pipe
added to that was a 2' pipe, threaded end down with a connector welded onto the bottom pipe, the 5' and 2' could be now screwed together
across top of the 2' piece, i welded a 2' piece of the 3/4 inch a my arm for the gambril, drilled a hole in that, and hung the gambril from that hole on 3" of cable- this allow me to spin the coyote as needed
1' pipe fits loosely into te 1 1/2- but came up with a lot of ideas on how to correct that, but found just dropping an old wrench into te slot solved it - might improve on that next year, might not LOL
comes apart in 3 piecs for easy hauling
