10-4, Tom, gotcha.
Here we go, we will give it a try.
Mac, these are the new DHDP traps just coming out; I bought a dozen from the Bogmaster to try. So far, so good. Haven't caught anything yet but things are slow in southern Kentucky.
These traps are awesome. They are small, sturdy and you can carry a lot of them. As you can see in the pictures, they are easy and simple to set. The front of the trap has a door. All the working parts are inside of the trap so nothing will freeze up. Take your index finger, push down on the door, tip the trap over and it sets itself. There is a small trigger inside the trap that you can set it for a normal set or a hairtrigger. Turn the trap over, put your bait or lure in the bottom of the trap up against the trigger, then turn it back over and the front of the trap, shove a marshmallow down there and be careful not to set it off. Stick it in the ground, stake it down and you are good to go. The door on the front of the trap won't hurt you if you catch yourself but is strong enough where it will definitely hold a coon. The harder the coon pushes in, the stronger it holds.
I thought the opening of the trap was a little small for the coon to get his hand in it but like a friend told me, if he can stick his hand in a crawdad hole he will definitely get his hand in this. I like these traps, so far so good. Had just wondered if anybody else had experience with them. Click on pictures to enlarge.
