Thought I would jump in here with more BCC .45 praises. Bought mine new last fall, and have been tinkering with loads off and on since. Settled on 300 grain LFNGC from Cast Performance over 24gr. H110. Made first meat with it Sat. morning on a nice 140 pd. 7 pt. @ 40-45 yds. Pretty much bang-flop, clean pass thru with little meat damage as was my goal. Picked up some REL 7 today to try as time permits, as I have been reading good things about this powder in .45 colt. Still have some tinkering to do from plinking to max. loads, but hey thats the fun part. Liking my little CC more & more every day!

The more I think about it, the more I come to realize that the BCC would also make a truly great "Survival" rifle (as in food-gettin' rifle, *NOT* "defend against the Black Helicopter Crew comin' to git' me" rifle), not only does it shoot a big chunk o' lead, it's short, maneuverable, easily broken down and packed, utterly reliable, and for standard pressure cartridges, it has practically no recoil to speak of, but it can handle the "Ruger Only" Nuclear-level loads if you need it to

Then there's also the fact that the .45 Colt cartridge was originally a Black Powder cartridge, that means you can even load up BP rounds in the event that the supply of smokeless powder dries up, keep a good stock of primers on hand, and you can always fall back on good ol' BP in a long-term emergency/survival situation

Heck, I could even hand the rifle with powderpuff smokeless loads to a novice shooter, or even a child capable of safely holding the rifle on target, and they could use it to gather game

I just love the nonexistent-to-light recoil, pointability, balance and quick shouldering of this great little carbine

I've been reading some older threads on the BCC, stating that H&R has been contemplating/already has discontinued production of the BCC, any truth to this, as it's still listed on their web site, they'd be foolish to discontinue this great gun, if it is being discontinued, then the urgency to pick up a second one for backup just went up dramatically

The CR-45 Carbine hasn't been made for a while, they only made them for 2 yrs, they only list them on the website for advertising benefits for all those still in dealer inventories, Remington did the same thing with the discontinued Russian SPR rifles, if you look at H&R's accessory barrel page, you'll see they are listed as no longer available.  :-\

What a nice looking rifle!  .45 LC would be such a fun round in a SS.
My FFL holder requires any firearms to be shipped to them via another FFL holder.  So, If I make an offer on a firearm please let me know if this is capable of being done from the start.  Please do NOT mark an item "SPF" to me until we "both" are happy with and in agreement on shipping, funds and the transaction in general.   Thanks

Last Sept at a local gun show a guy had a 'nib' BCC .45 for $300 !!! You know how it is, he could have shot it and not been satisfied and cleaned it up to sell or it actually could have been nib. After some of the issues those last production models had I was hoping they would fix the line and keep making them.
In fact, they ought to make that model in a selection of the most popular pistol calibers.

Good info on the Speer DeepCurl.  I'd read some negative reviews, so I stuck with the XTP's.  I might have to give them a try for my blackhawk.  I think the velocities I'm getting with the Reloader7 would cause them to break up too much in the carbine loads.  8)
