Instead of a post up front you should use a bead to shoot with that v-notch rear sight.
Either way, you took a step back from accuracy by going with open sights. The shorter barrel producing less velocity will also keep the revolver from shooting as flat at the longer ranges.....making range estimation more important.
I'd guess that with good eyesight, with a post up front, and a Square Notch for a rear sight that one could get 2 to 3 inch groups at 50 yds' out of this revolver. With a bead up front, and a v-notch in the rear one might learn to shoot the same size groups at 50 yds, but it might take more practice to learn a consistent 'sight picture' which is no problem with a post and square notch set up.
