Well I had my Handi 500 S&W out the other day and things are starting to look a little better with this rifle. I mounted a 4x nikon buckmaster scope on it, with warren steel rings and base, and added the new handi grip stock to it. I used some insulating foam and a long bolt to the butt stock and this added a little weight to the gun to aid in recoil. this is the 3rd scope I've had on this gun and it is holding up so far after shooting 30 rounds. I was shooting some of my reloaded 350gr XTP's, some remingtons 385gr JHP, and 440gr CPWFPGC. There is still some recoil, but my shoulder did not hurt at all after this shooting session. I think the butt stock and pad had alot to do with the felt recoil. I was shooting at 50 yards and wasn't really trying for great groups , just get on the paper and see what happens. The scope adjusted pretty good and the XTP's shot ok, then the Remingtons shot ok also, but the 440gr CP did better. It took me awhile since it is so warm outside and the barrel on the rifle was getting pretty hot. So I will probably sight in later on when it is cooler and use the CP 440gr bullets only......
