I made it through the first week of Chemo and Radiation treatment with no problem. I didn’t really have any idea what to expect, I was told the accelerated Chemo schedule would make me sick, nauseous and may cause some stomach problems, I experienced neither. The radiation is focused primarily on my left upper chest and throat; it did cause a sore throat, but did not alter my eating at all. I have three more days of Chemo this week then will be off for three weeks and begin the process again. The radiation will continue for a total of 48 days, about 15 minutes each day. The only down side to the treatment was it made me very tired. I had to have a nap each day afterwards, and then had problems sleeping at night. I faunally resolved that I was bring this on myself and stopped the naps, started sleeping at night and things are better in that area now.
I feel very fortunate that my state of health was fairly good prior to the discovery of the cancer; I think this will make it possible for me to beat this thing.
A special thanks goes out for all the “Knee Mail”. It helps. Keep us in your prayers.
