Weellllllll, I just learned a valuable lesson about doing things the right way a few minutes ago when it comes to neighbors pit bulls. An old banking friend of mine called me on the phone, and advised me that his daughter and son in law were the owners of the pit that I called in on yesterday and he wanted me from now on to let him handle it. I told him that if it were a small dog then I would be happy to, but a pit bull was a different story, and the couple had been talked to, and issued a letter from the city, and had denied that it was their dog.
I asked my friend if he wanted a pit bull roaming his neighborhood and he said no not necessarily, and I said this one has been in my yard at all hours of the night, raisin cain at two and three in the morning. He called me a liar at that point. I called that to his attention, and he informed me that his daughter had assured him the dog was kept in the house. I assured him that I was not mistaken and had followed the dog home, but he was immovable, and insisted I was not telling the truth. I advised him I had pictures of the dog out, and still he wouldn't budge. I told him the conversation was over as was our long friendship and hung up.
I will never deal with such a problem like that again. From now on the problem animal will simply disappear from my property, if and when it strays on to it. In this day and time, folks don't respect other folks rights, property, or safety, so I see no reason to try and resolve such problems any other way. The guy really surprised me, and his daughter really fed him a load a crap.
