Thats a sweet 336 Rex, is it your first lever? I been playing around with cast and light loads and its a blast. Now I need a 45/70 and a 35 Rem.
Let us know how that sight works out as I want to do the same for woods hunting. I am looking at the Skinner sights also.

rex6666; Thanks for the dating information. I put it on my favorites list to reference in the future. Mine is a 1973. I can tell your having fun. You will enjoy that 336 more cause you worked on it. It looks really nice as it is in the pics. Lets see it when you get done !

I have 1 #39 well had 1 it was my Dads he traded a colt pistol for it in 1957
in Farmington N.M. I was 10, between the two of us we killed a load of coyotes
and jackrabbits with it, My son is 38 now and let him have it after explaining what
it meant. He killed his first jackrabbit with it at about 9. I have a #57 levermatic
22mag that i think i will drag out a refinish, bought it in 1969 it has been USED
a lot.

I was waitin for pic's.
I have i guess finshed my project, but might put a few coats on the forearm
just to make every thing match better.
I ended up with 2 sets of peep sights Lyman 66LA and Williams 5D-336
i had put a bid on the 66LA on ebay and forgot about it, then ordered the
5D-336 from Midway so i will have to pick the one i like. Guess i will need
another 336 to put the other sight on. (did i say that out loud)
Really think i need a 444 or 45/70. wish they would make a 38/55

If you need a place to store that extra Lyman peep sight I will store it for you for FREE. To protect the mounting holes I will screw it onto my 336,(no charge), and that will also protect it from possible "warpage". I will keep it cleaned and oiled and regulated for 150gr Sierra bullets. I also store guns if any one is interested for FREE as a public service to those in need. Just out of the kindness of my heart. Buy the way, I'm running for President next term.   ;D
