Wisconsin OPEN CARRY
« on: February 03, 2010, 06:31:22 AM »
From the Fall 2009 "Wisconsin Gun Owner":

Maybe old news by now?

Travis F. Yates arrested for open carry and charged with disorderly in Madison

Has anyone heard if there was a conviction?   The charge was totally inconsistent with what A.T. VanHollen said.

If that's the guy who was doing yard work in his own yard....the gun was returned the charges dropped and some officers were talked to....particularly about listening to hysterical neighbors.

That's some newer case. The guy doing yard work was near Milwaukee, West Allis I think. His charges were dropped.

Wasn't there a guy near Minocqua where something similar happened about 1 1/2 years ago? I believe he was carrying doing yard work?

The incident that got VanHollen's attention happened in West Allis (southeastern WI).

The one I inquired about happened in Madison in the very recent past, after the West Allis incident.  As I look in WCCA, there is no legal history on Travis F. Yates.  Maybe he was charged for a disorderly under an ordinance violation.

I did not hear about an open carry incident in Minoqua.

If you go to www.OCDO.org/wisconsin you will find info on the arrest.
