.357 Max Handi at 25 Yards
« on: January 23, 2010, 10:46:46 AM »
I was just getting it on paper.  This is with some .38 Special 150 grain wadcutters that were charged using Lee dipper.

My buddy gave me 8 boxes of these loads.  I'm pretty sure they are Bullseye thrown with a Lee dipper under a 150 double ended wadcutter in mixed cases.

OK, the question is which Lee dipper? Let us know so we can load some up as well. Looks like a nice easy and accurate shooting load....<><....:)

I have one that drops 3gr. Bullseye, within one tenth on my scale every time if you do it consistently.   Thats my favorite load in a 38.  Maybe  I just need Swampi to come and shoot mine for me ;D ;D

BTW the little holes are 5 shots from my 1976 Marlin 39A using Remington Golden bulk ammo.  It took some tinkering but it's running perfectly now.

Whats the noise level like with those loads compared to the .22LR?

I'd like to make some popgun loads for grouse when I'm deer hunting.

They are louder than a .22 but not so bad.

Are they alot louder like you really need to wear hearing protection?  Or more like a stinger out of a .22?

I think in the field you might not need protection.  We were shooting under a cover.
