I completely lost all interest in this sort of thing after my repeated attempts to get the old stadiums converted into shooting ranges.

I watched it. Nice Stadium. Good game. Giants will be excellent this year. I can see why Ely Manning is one of the highest paid QBs in the league (actually, I think he is the highest paid ;) ).

STadium was obviously nice (hey, you can buy alot for $1.1 billion) but a bit over the top for me. The dancing girls in "cages" atop the stadium was a bit much and don't get me started on the giant TV screen.

Did you see that if you lay the empire state bldg down it's only a bit longer than the length of the stadium?!

I agree TribReady. A little much for me too. I'm still a big fan of seeing teams playing on real grass turf in a real outdoor stadium. Sort of like at Lambeau Field. ;)

Watched that one too MS. ;D It also was a good game. But, I have a true hate ;) relationship with Da Bears (not as much as my total disregard for the Queens though :D ) and wanted to see Pittsburgh but them down a game from the Packers who lost to the Bengals. By the way, the Bengals looked awesome and deserved their win over the Packers yesterday. Green Bay was flat and it showed. The Bengals are a way better team than the "experts" have been giving them credit for in the last few weeks.

Yeah, I almost felt sorry for the Steelers kicker that choked on two field goal attempts. But since I'm a Bears fan, I didn't. ;D
I'm still pissed they lost to Green Bay though. >:( >:( >:(

GH1,

Just so you know, I don't always hate Da Bears. When Green Bay is out, and Da Bears are still in the hunt, I cheer for them. I really only dislike Da Bears when they beat up on the Packers - like back in the 80s when Da Bears humiliated the Packers at Lambeau having Da Frig rush for 2 TDs as a 400 lb. running back. :D

I haven’t been inside the new facility but drove past a few weeks ago, it is impressive but you have to hock the farm to get a ticket.  He may have overextended himself on this one.

I was glad to see the boys get beat in their home opener, I hope there will be many more and the building becomes a jinks to them.  As an old friend use to say (I’m cleaning it up a bit), “the three most overrated things I can think of are, home cooking, home sex and the Dallas Cowboys.”

And that’s from an old Texas boy……………… ::) ::) ::)

Lost interest in pro football many years ago.(college too!!) And when I hear stories of multi-million dollar owners, some billioniars, crying to local communities, we need a tax levy, to help pay for our ''new stadium''. Bullcrap!!Then charge outragious ticket prices to pay for them and overpaid players. Sorry I have such a negative attitude about this. Kinda like porno movies. If ya can't participate, why watch. gypsyman

I live in Auburn, AL, home of Auburn University.  The Football games generate a lot of money for the University and the local area.  Football gets enough money to pay for all the other athletics as well as fund a new university library with over a million books.  Money was used to build parking decks on campus also.  Local area gets money from fans spending especially at local restaurants and motels/hotels.  Auburn runs a bus system to the local mall shopping centers, Wal-mart, K-Mart, and apartment complexes to pick up fans going to the game and returns them after the game.  The businesses don't mind the people parking there during the games as it generates business for them.  No recession here during games.  They usually have 8 home games a year.  87,500 is the stadium size (10th largest in the country).  Of course the money pays for expensive coaches too.  Almost all games are sellouts.  Of course with all the SEC games played, it always brings the crowds.  More people attend SEC games than any other conferences.

There's several of the many reasons I have for not watching pro sports listed above.
Just doing my little part by not giving any my attention.  ::)
Don't like it, don't watch it.

I just know the day is coming when I finally get fed up with college sports and then I'll have no excuse for not getting around to the honey-do's.... :'(
