It all fades quickly when the old lady comes up and attaches the lead to the ring in his nose ...

nice story, but it doesnt cut the mustard where the rubber meets the road.  maybe with the weekend warriors it holds some water.   i can honestly say that none of my brothers are lead around by the nose by ANY woman.

If I had a nickel for everytime one of my brothers ... Men who are feared in corners and caves all over this planet ... came to me tore up over a woman. Be proud of your brothers, but don't look down on the guy pushing the stroller wearing a pink shirt and a ring. You really have no idea. Things don't make a man.

Hay, women are nice to have around.  Some are better than others, just as some men are better than others.  But after my divorce I determined they are all replaceable, just as men are to them.  If a man decides to be totally whipped by a woman that is his choice, let him be a wimp.  If she does not like a man being independent, aggressive, and macho, then she can leave.  If she stays it's her choice.  Now I DO NOT CONDONE physical abuse from either sex, otherwise what happens behind closed doors is their business.

My wife is very good to me, and I feel I am very good to her, I try hard to be.  We have been married 31 years.  But if she should become intolerant of my way of life, or try to be controlling, she can and will be replaced.  My first wife has warned her to be good to me, if not she will take me back in a heart beat.  Not on your life, she is a wonderful woman, but no longer my type.  There is greener pastures out there.

Now as for my wife getting a tattoo or piercing.  She has discussed it with me.  She wanted to get her ears pierced, I did not have a problem with that.  She wanted a belly button ring, and a little frog or rose tattoo.  I told her I did not like it, but if she wanted to go ahead.  After weighing the pro and cons she decided not to get one.  Then she came to me about getting an eye brow ring, I said flat "NO"!  "No face metal".  She put the idea on the back burner.  Our son came to me one evening and asked what I had said about his Mom getting a ring in her eye brow.  I told him what I had said, and how I feel.  He agreed with me he feels the same way.  He said watch this and go along.  We went into the living room where my wife was watching TV.

Sky said "Mom, I want a ring in my eye brow and one in my lip, maybe a tongue stud".  She came unglued, she went to ranting and raving, about why did he want to ruin such a handsome face.  Sky then said, "Why not, you want an eye brow ring".  I agreed, saying that was what she had said.  If looks could kill, I would have been a goner.  She decided right there "No one in this house is getting any face metal, ar anywhere else for that matter".  End of discussion.  Sky and I could not help it we laughed for the rest of the evening.

Have to say, it was funny watching that little woman, all 4'11" of her.  Pushing that 20 yr old, young man, 5'6" 160 lb body builder, against the wall and laying down the law.  Him standing there looking down at her, and laughing.  Her hitting him in the chest with both her little fist, just made him, and me, laugh that much harder.  Oh Yea, she is not even thinking about getting any piercings or tattoos anymore.

great post sourdough.  ya said it better than i would have.

teamn....i know what makes a man, and it sure as hell aint a woman.  in the vast majority of cases they are little more than expensive accessories, and as sourdough said, easily replaced.

No problem with pierced ears on a woman. I like a nice little feminine tattoo on a woman's belly button, along with the belly button ring, although it looks rather uncomfortable and likely to get hook on something and possibly ripped right off her belly. OUCH!! But the "face metal" (and tongue metal) is down right disgusting. The eye brow and lip rings make those women look like they have some sort of facial deformity like a big growth coming off their heads, and the nose rings make it look like they have a big snotty snag that they tried to blow into a napkin but somehow just got misplaced onto the upper nose. I just can't understand why anyone would want to have one of those metal balls stuck to their tongue. Seems like it would leave a metallic taste in their mouth and food might get stuck underneath it or something weird like that.

Former Marine Sniper Slapped With 3,000-Yard Restraining Order

http://www.theonion.com/content/node/54719

MACON, GA—Citing Emily Holman's right to feel safe traversing vast open spaces, especially when within visual range of clock towers, parking structures, and tall buildings, a judge awarded the 28-year-old a 3,000-yard restraining order yesterday against her former boyfriend, retired Marine sniper Gordon Lee Blackwood. "When we broke up he started calling me 10 times a day from his job," said Holman, who realized Blackwood's office building, which had an open, flat roof, was only 1,800 yards away. "He had me flinching every time I saw sunlight glinting off any surface within two and a half miles." Blackwood would not comment on the judge's decision, saying only that he still loved Holman and was trying to understand the distance and crosswinds that separated them.

Got ya Myron, I've heard of the reliability of The Onion before, but the restraining order for 3000 Yards because the guy was a former Marine Sniper was just too funny to resist. I also like the part that Richard quoted above, and especially the part where the girl says, "He had me flinching every time I saw sunlight glinting off any surface within two and a half miles." :D Figured you might find some humor in it too, being a former Special Forces guy and it also sort of played into what you were saying about women not leading men around by the nose - well, expect for the part about the Marine calling the girl 10 time per day. But yes, all in all, it's probably not even a true story.
