Geeze I missed a lot but enjoy my morning laugh reading this all....good like with the reaming.  Never said that before.  Looking forward to the results.  You'd think 4-d would have had some type of extension made up by now.  I can't believe something like that wouldn't be made available to his customers.... :-\

Sure did Tyler.  Sorry, I'm real bad about not reading or responding to my PM's...  :-[  I'll do it soon's I finish this post!  If I remember...  :P

I was going to start reaming tonight but I have a retirement party to go to after work so I think I'll do it tomorrow after a good night's sleep.  I want to be sob... er... REFRESHED when I do this!   ;D

Now, wasn't I 'spose to do something after I finished this post?   :-\

My thought was to use a ¼" drive socket that will just fit the reamer, use a release agent on the reamer and bed it in epoxy in the dedicated socket, then just use your ¼" drive extension on it for the work.

Ah Tim me lad!   ;D  How great minds think alike! :D  That was my initial idea also!  Still might try it as I already have the the socket complete with a short extension sitting on my reloading bench!

But if I get this extension set up I'll send it to Tyler and anyone else who wants to throat their 45-120!   :)

So after a guy reams out to a 45-120, how does it then shoot the 45-70 rounds?  Anyone done any accuracy test before and after?Lazer

Never tried a 45-70 in my 45-120, but I asked my smith about it, he said it would work in a pinch, just leave a fouled chamber that would need cleaning well before shooting 45-120 in it, not unlike shooting 38spl in a 357mag.

So long as its not like shooting a 45LC in a 45/410 chamber.  Accuracy does suffer there.  And in the 38/357mag we are fractions of an inch not inches like a 45/70 vs 45/120!
