New handi 22-250
« on: January 26, 2009, 01:35:06 PM »
Hello, I have been lurking here for about a week now.  I had a peaked interest in NEF but could not make up my mind between the .223 and the 22-250.  Well tonight I purchased the Handi in 22-250 stainless, Bull barrel with a synthetic stock.  The model is listed as a SB22S5 for about $299.00 at a local firearms dealer.  I can’t wait to get out and shoot it as soon as the weather breaks.  I chose the 22-250 because I reload and already have the dies.  My question is would it be okay to neck size the brass after the initial firing or is a full sizing of the brass recommended?  Also how accurate is the Handi.  I think I’m hooked and see a lot new barrels in my future.

Rick,
First off welcome to the forum and congrats on the new rifle! While I don't have a Handi in .22-250, I am interested in getting one. I may be wrong here, but I believe I remember reading a post in regards to neck sizing only with the .22-250 and I think there were some that had problems chambering rounds that were neck sized. I think as long as they chamber for you it should work out fine. I look forward to hearing how it shoots for you!

Thanks for the reply, I think you are right about the post on neck sizing.  I will try it and see how it works out.
