Stocks From H+R/NEF
« on: December 24, 2008, 01:54:15 AM »
I was looking at the H+R/NEF website and particularly their barrel accessory page. I saw their listing to order stocks, but it doesn't say whether the price was just for a butt stock or included the forend. Could anyone tell me if they include both?
Thanks,
Don

I always thought they were a set, but looking at their site, I can't tell you now.  I didn't see any listings at all for forends.  Seems strange.  How would you buy just a forend?

Those are butt stocks only by the part number and price, to order a forend you have to call and ask or get the part number from the FAQs Retail Parts price list or the price list page if they aren't listed on the price list itself it you want to order on the acc barrel form. Brownell's also sells some stocks and forends.

Thanks guys! H+R/NEF seems to want the stock with a receiver to fit a new accessory barrel. I don't want to send a newly finished Gunstocks stock set with the receiver, so maybe I'll just order a synthetic set when I order the barrel and they can use that to fit the barrel.

Don't send anything that you don't want damaged. They put a big gash in the forend of my 7x64 a few years back....

That was a different group of people. Not sure how the Remington people are.

Would be a good chance to get a new stock though.
