Went to the WALL this morning to pay my respects to my lost brothers.

Lots of us Vets were there, seems to me to be more every year (the numbers made me feel good).
Also noticed there were alot of children with the vets, have not noticed that in previous years. 
I must say I have never asked my sons to go with me (always just wanted to be alone with our brothers).
Today as always I am torned with the memories of how they died versus why they died.
God bless them.

Amen to all of the above.  This is our day to remember all our brothers who fell on the field and after the madness as well.  We can't forget the ones who carry the nightmares with them everyday.  I did 6 active and damn proud of it!  DP

I have never served. I and my family owe a great big thank you for those that did. This is the day to remember all that have served; I reap the benefits of their sacrifice every day.

The ones that earned everyones' thanks are the ones that didn't come back or were injured.
That's the price we (they) paid for freedom.
Being drafted I was fortunate in only having to face the potential of ....

Many thanks to those who paid there taxes in 1972 - paying for the 105 and 155mm shells I had the fun of launching at Ft Sill.

I wouldn't go back to Nam again for a million bucks but I wouldn't take a million for the experience.

The Vets since have made me real proud, they have renewed my faith in our military and our country. They are the best.

I did my 20 yrs and couple months in the navy, retired in 77, Have a son in the CG who will be retireing in couple yrs. Glad to have served and thanks to the others that did.

Happy Veterans Day everyone. Thanks for your your service. I wasn't able to serve due to a bad injury to my right hand as a teenager but I really appreciate everyone who has served our great country. I went to the Moving Wall Memorial this past summer and it was quite an emotional experience.

I, too, did a 4yr. tour in the USAF during the quiet time(74-78).  I never left the states, so most of the time I really don't consider myself a VET.  I was proud to serve and want to offer a big THANK YOU to all who haved served and are serving now.  God Bless You each one.

Thanks to the man who mentioned those who went on missions that never took place.  There are a lot of nameless faces that risk their lives every day for our security, who will never be known nor acknowledged, and whose missions will remain secret through our lifetimes.  I know some of these guys.  Their battle pack stays at the foot of the bed ready.  The call can come at any moment, and all the family gets is a kiss good by with no idea of when he's coming home or where he is going.

To you guys who serve stateside.  You are every bit as important as anyone else.  Never think less of yourself.  The military is a big chain.  Every link is equally necessary.

I salute all Vets, my father in particular. He landed in Cherbourgh France in June , 1944. He fought his way across Europe as an Army infantryman in the Timber Wolf Division, over 260 days of consecutive combat, what a feat.
