I mentioned the problem, in the post about my son's new handi rifle, but thought this deserves its own thread.
I bought a box of this ammo to sight in my new 1894 marlin, .44 mag for deer season. Out of 10 shots, I had 4 split cases, which unfortunately I threw away. I switched over to the new LE ammo, and it was very accurate and performed flawlessly.
Yesterday I got the boy a new handi rifle, .44 mag for deer season. I should have known better, but took it along with LE ammo to sight the gun in. I used the win. ammo to get the gun on paper. My son and I shot 17 rounds of it thru the handi, and had 6 split cases!

One gun could have been a fluke , but not 2 new rifles. On my sons, the extractor would pull them out, but had to use a pocket knife to get them out far enough to pull them out.
Out of 27 shots, thru 2 different rifles, we wound up with 10 split cases. Even the ones that didn't split, all were vey dirty and sooty.
I am sending a letter/email to winchester this weekend. BTW, the LE ammo was great in both rifles and that's what we are using this deer season.
