It's real easy paddling, no sore muscles after the ~2 mile trip we did today up the lake and then upstream in the creek that feeds the lake and back, a little internet research and anyone can paddle like a pro.

The hardest part is getting in and out, they're unstable until you have your butt planted in the seat, but there are techniques that make it easy, specially if you can ground the boat at the shore line, when you step in, it rests on the bottom and it's easy, just scoot yourself and the boat into deeper water. Works the same getting out, only use the paddle across the back of the boat and extended to the beach to keep it from tipping.

I got the angler model with an anchor system and rod mount so it will spend some time fishing, already have a trip planned to Lake Merrill, a flyfishing only lake, the wife's is the same model in yellow, both Old Town Dirigo 120s.
No rolling over Shaner, I have a half skirt ordered for it, but if I roll it over, I'm getting out of it!! No white water for me, just recreational touring with some fishing thrown in occasionally. It has a large cockpit that makes getting out of it real easy in an emergency, one of the nice things about this type of boat, it also tracks very well, yet is very maneuverable.
