I found out a long time ago that the old saying"actions speak louder than words"applies in a no small way to hunting. Hunters as a whole are a solitary bunch that don't want formalities infringing on their free time. I belong to a club that has over 2500 members that lease 67,000+ acres. Although most belong for the miles of trails to ride wheelers on rather than to hunt, everybody has a vested interest in club matters. At our quarterly meetings we never have more than 50 people and alot of times less. Most just want to get out and do it! It seems that no matter how well meaning we are with our words about hunting, there are going to be those that misinterpet/resent our intentions. Sow your seeds by your actions. You'll still turn off some people and some won't want to hunt with you anymore. That's their problem, not yours. Believe me,after living in a rural low populated area for 30+ yrs, your hunting ethics can sow lots of seed.
Have I noticed our hunting community shrinking? The impact of the reduced interest in hunting, for what ever reasons,on our area has went from booming in the 70's to not even being able to tell it's hunting season now!
They say you never really know someone until you've hunted with'em or went camping with'em but it seems you and NONYA have alot in common.
