Husqvarna Rifle

Anyone know anything about a Husqvarna rifle. Particularly a model 8000. The one I've been looking at has a really slick action. Looks like a Rem700 with a Sako extractor. In 308.

Before purchasing a model 1640 in 6.5x55 I pounded up and down searching the web for info on Huskies. The highest model number I found was 7000. Very confusing since I've seen 8000 and 9000's for sale! Possibly these were manufactured when Carl Gustav's aquired the name. My rifle functions and shoots delightfully. All the quality and crafstmanship one would expect. I am tempted to sell the other 19 rifles I have and start collecting Husqvarna's!

Great guns. I don''t own one at this time, but over the years have owned at leat 5 of them.  They were all great guns, accurate, reliable, and they looked good too.

I owned the less fancy version with iron sights, the Model 9000, in the mid 1970s. I think the Model 8000 was the fancier rifle. I remember the rifle was very similar in appearance to the Remington Model 700s I owned then. To me, it was an average rifle, accurate enough and well made, but not noteworthy. It was chambered for the .30-06. I did not buy the rifle new, but from the original owner. I sold it because I decided I had enough .30-06 rifles at the time, and wanted to experiment with some new cartridges (the 7mm Remington Mag). I bought it because it was a good deal, having paid about $100 for the rifle with a scope, a set of dies and some reloading components.

The most accurate 30-06 I've owned was a Husquvarna I had in the 60s. Selling it was a really dumb move. They are well built rifles and good looking.
