Hi John
Auctually, the patterson film was proved to be authentic, from a high tech team, that was aired on one of the documentary channels about a month ago, I just happened to be watching the boob tube, when I noticed it comeing on. They proved that it was a real animal, or unknown species, from discecting the film, fram by fram and comparing it to computor graphics of know monkey`s with the way it walked and length of arms, stride of steeps, etc. How ever, there were a team of scientist that said it was fake up untill that last testing that proved it was the real thing.
there was some hair samples that were collected and it was proved to come from a primate that was similar to the gorilla and the oragatang, but different. Rather words an unknown species.
John the one that says it was all a fake, was some old windbag that died this year and his family said it was fake, cause he was making foottrack, and telling people it was bigfoot. But like I was saying in an earlier post with my bigfoot cast picture, a real track will have the dermal ridges on the bottom of the feet.
Also the Patterson film was done with two people the other guy with Patterson was a friend of his by the name of Bob Grimley. I mispelled the last name, but it was something like that. Now Patterson died and in his life span he got 14 million dollars off the royalts of that piece of film, rather words everytime that piece of film is shown, his heirs gets a check.
Now poor old Bob Grimley never got a dime. On Bob`s death bed statement, he said it was an auctuall wild animal called bigfoot. Since then I read, and I dont know if its true, but Bob`s family took it to court and his heirs now get a royalty check now from the same film.
I think I`d be  also if I was there when it happened and never got a cent from it. You see Bob was holding the horses and had a rifle aimed at the bigfoot in case it charged, while Patterson did the filming.
As far as shooting one. I`d have no trouble, Okla does not have such a law, and pictures, even though are nice and all, they dont prove a thing without going through a lengthy process and years of it, like the Patterson film did. I did have the opertnative to shoot a young one, but could not do it. It looked to much like a kid. I let him go , we both stared at each other for about 45 seconds not 17 paces away, and he finally ran. I ain`t going to shoot no juvenile, but an adult is a different story. Just one is all, dont get your self all worked up. Just to prove they exist.
Now remember this, when and if they do prove to the scientific community that they exist and they are then put on the endangered species list, it will make a lot of hunters uneasy about going to those tree stands before sunup
