I own a CZ 527 Lux/American in .223 Remington. It started out as a Lux model with the humpback stock and all. I just didn't like the cheek-weld with that hogback, but forced myself for a year to take my time. One day I saw where CZ-USA sells aftermarket stocks, so I bought one. I had to do some minor inletting. The Lux model has the open sights, so I had to do some inletting to allow for the rear sight band. The American model does not have sights. Anyway, the action is glass smooth, is a mini-mauser action, has a highly adjustable trigger for pull weight, creep and overtravel. It also has a set trigger which is set into action by pushing the regular trigger forward until you hear a click. The regular trigger then becomes a set trigger with a 12 ounce pull weight. My rifle will put five 50 grain Hornady SX bullets into an area the size of a dime time after time if UI do my part on the sandbags. I put a Bushnell 3200 Elite in 7x21x40, which I bought from the Optic Zone for a great price. I thought when I first bought it that I would have a problem with the hang-down magazine. Now it just seems to belong on the rifle. It is a petite little rifle capable of some fantastic groups. I once popped a p-dog out in Bonita Canyon near Grants, New Mexico at a lastered 468 yards with it. The shot was witnessed by a shooting buddy of mine. I didn't try another shot that far though. Shoot and hit one time and you are a fantastic shot, shoot twice and hit once and it, well, you get the drift. Below is a photo of my CZ 527 Lux/American. If you put the cursor on the pix and left click it, the photo will be enlarged. I highly recommend the CZ 527. I don't own a .204 Ruger so I will not comment on it, however, I have heard some very good reports about the cartridge from those who do own it and frequent these forums. Good Luck ... Tom P
