Model 70 price check

Went to the Pawn Shop today..lotz of goodies ,but a Winchester Model 70 Ranger 30-06 stood out ...It has a nice scope forget the brand ,but it was a nice clear scope..not a Weaver or Simmions or a Tasco, It started with a "S"  Anyway there asking $300.00 cash ...I'm not up to snuff on boltguns Hope you can help...

I'd buy it if you like it.  It's a push-feed gun, and some people turn their nose up at them, but I had one that shot everything I tried into less than an inch.  EVERYTHING I tried.  Also, with Winchester closing last year, just about any Model 70 may end up being worth some cash.

I bought it...the scope is a Swift SRP 4-12X40mm with adjustable objective..Its a $135 scope in good used condition....the gun is in great shape VG+

What about the PRE-64's?  Is their price higher than the post?  What about availability?

Wiith the Winchester plant closing, all Winchester rifles have skyrocketed in price.  The Pre-64's were getting very collectable to begin with, and now they are more so.  Unless you find one in a pawn shop, or one that the owner doesn't know what they have, you're going to pay out the wazoo for any Model 70.  Model 94 lever actions are like that too.  I've seen 94 Ranger 30-30's that Wal-Mart sold for $270 selling for upwards of $700 online now.
