island you from  the big islands???

I'm actually raised on Oahu in Kailua town on windward coast before it became a suburb of LA.  Have lived on the Big Island near Kealakekua, will eventually settle on Big Island but probably on Hilo side, only place I could ever think of affording land.  Presently on Maui for about 12 years.

Shaner, the News Sun (local newspaper) has an article today titled " Gouged On Gas In Hobbs (NM)" where the price is $2.26. That's a dime cheaper than here which is 22 miles north of Hobbs. The president of the New Mexico Oil & Gas Assn. says it is due to transportation costs and demand. That doesn't hold much water when most of the gasoline sold in west TX and eastern NM comes from a refinery in Big Spring, TX. It is about the same distance to Hobbs,NM and Lubbock,TX but gas is only $1.89 in Lubbock. I have lived here a long time and it has always been this way. If I have to go out of town I put in enough gas to get a hundred miles and that will get me to cheaper gas.

When the price of oil goes up the price of gas seems to go up instantly at the pump. When the price of oil goes down the pump price goes down------later. While the price of oil went down the last few weeks the pump price has stayed the same here. Crude prices are climbing again so we won't see any change here except to an increase probably. The wholesale price of regular unleaded was $1.3960 yesterday.
