Most have either a ATS(automatic transfer switch)...or just kill the main breaker...or just run a bunch of extension cords..Till I get my ATS installed that's what I'm doing...Heavy duty extension cords aren't cheap...and is what should be used.,..I saw a bunch of folks buying generators last night...most we buying el-cheapo extension cords to go along with them...I am more  worried about these folks burning their houses down..than backing juice up the line...

Well I shot skeet again this afternoon guys. It was tough, I was sweating so much I had to finally take off my straw hat and shoot in bare head cuz I was sweating so bad even in short sleeve shirts. Must have been mid 70s at least. But the clouds are now moving in and they say we'll get our part of it over night and thru tomorrow and that by Tuesday the temp might not leave the 30s all day. Now that definitely is not short sleeve shooting weather so on Wednesday I might need a jacket.

I have a heavy heart for you folks out there suffering Mother Natures wrath. We get ice and sleet storms here in Maryland reguarly.  We are often the dividing line between the cold and warm temps, so I know exactly what your going through.  There are few worse sounds then being awakened during the night by the sound of a tree collapsing.  Ice storms create unbelieveable havok.

Its has been unseasonably warm here all winter.  We've been pushing 70 degrees for the past couple days and had some 70's a couple weeks ago with consistant 50's-60's all season.  The unfortunate fact is that we know we're going to get hit sooner or later and with as warm as its been, there's a good chance we'll get ice, as well.

Hang in there.

No real bad weather here, but it's been colder than normal, it barely broke 32º today, had to go down to my Dad's rest home at a little before 2pm, had to scrape my windshield cuz the frost on it was still froze!! Also had to replace the furnace thermostat today, it quit workin last night, but the overnight temp was only 25º, so no real hardship here to deal with, which is fortunate, lots of folks dealin with some bad stuff right now. :'(

I had to put my truck in 4x4 to get it into the garage to de-ice. I had to work this weekend, so I had no choice but to go out in it. We moved to Oklahoma from Arizona and what a difference! I still wouldn't go back. I have shot two bucks and 3 hogs since I arrived. I love this state.

Yep rain, more rain, then some rain to go with the rain. 2.933 for the month so far here at the house, .563 yesterday and .142 today since midnight and it is not even 3:00am yet.... Going to have to get a boat to get to work if it keeps this up.... Deer aren't moving, the bow is all wet, and I am thinking of changing my name to duck!

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN!!! >:(  Got up this morning at 4:45 to get ready to come to work and it was coming down so hard I couldn't see the street which is about twenty five feet from the front window.  According to the Weather Channel the temps are going to start falling here in Ohio and hopfully the rain stops prior to this.  Being a cop in this weather is a real pain!  If this stuff freezes up all I'll be doing is running from one crash to an other since is seems people just have to go out an run around to "See what it is like outside."  I'll ask them sometimes if just looking out the window wouldn't have been a better idea.  Stimpy, Greg and Shaner, we should all get our swim fins on and swim out to the range to shoot a little ;D

Not to worry Stimpy, I'm getting older and slower and a lot WIDER than I used to be, but I can still get out of the way pretty good.  Early on in my law enforcement gig I took an unintentional ride on an elderly ladies hood for about a block and a half before I finally could convince her to stop the @$&# car.  Not likely to try that stunt again! ;D

Wolfgang, Stimpy, Shaner,

Yea, we should get together sometime, I wonder if there is an all night gun range open somewhere  ;D Yea working grave yard shift makes it hard for me to get out like I want to. Wolfgang, keep your head down out there and out of the way of the idiots, I know I hate to go out when it is bad weather, I will walk to where ever I need to go if I can before driving. When I still had a 4x4 I would sometimes get called out to transport doctors to the hospital or home in real bad weather, one of the public service things Amateur Radio Ops get called to do, that and storm spotting. It was lots of fun when I was young and dumb to go out and chase tornadoes, now a days I will just sit back and report what comes near my location, not going to go out looking for them anymore, seen too many of them too close.

OK, time for me to hit the rack, the sun is coming up so it must be bed time!

Enid OK
I had 2" of sleet in my rain guage for the weekend.
But my guage is on south side of house.
It looks like more to me.
I have never seen that much.
No snow, no freezing rain, just pellets of ice everyware.
My 82 c10 drives on top won't sink.
