Hi Guys,
I ordered a new CZ 550 FS in 9.3 x 62 MM last week and it is supposed to arrive shortly. From looking at the optics section of the Midway online catalog it looks as if the there are no bases involved in mounting a scope but the rings fit the milled slots in the receiver much like a Ruger. Is this true and do the rifles come with rings?
I ordered the rifle because it looks like a real thumper on paper and the 9.3 is a caliber I don't have. Don't really need much for most Texas whitetails except I think this will be easy to load down for pleasant shooting both at the range and in the deer fields. Got some PRVI ammo from Graf's with the 286 grain bullets and they are wicked looking. What is the consensus on their performance? Anyone know the exact ballistics or where I can look with me having to learn the metric system? Is the PRVI boxer reloadable? Also bought some 236 grain Norma ammo. which should be good. Any opinion? Any pet loads to share? I am not a "hot rodder" but just like accurate, comfortable loads and this cartridge looks like it has great potential when I go after bigger, meaner stuff.
Bought the full stock because I've always liked the look but never owned one. I want to get a scope that compliments the look and I want a variable up to about 5 or maybe 7 power, but I want one with a straight tube at the front instead of a bell. I think this looks better on a classic stocked rifle. Opinions and recommendations appreciated!!! Any one know of a scope that would fit my scheme? I'll put some pics on here when I get it set up and let you guys know how it shoots. Should I be scared? I've shot a Ruger #1 in .458 Lott and It is Scary! at the bench. Otherwise I can shoot just about anything and I am not recoil sensitive.
I enjoy all these forums and your posts.
Thanks,
Blowtorch
