The guy that owns the gunshop that I frequent told me that he can't give an accurate quote on a new rifle because of the fuel surcharge involved in shipping the guns. He can give a ballpark figure, but he lets you know straight out that any price could be, and most likely will be higher than a quote when the rifle shows up.
Since Remington has to pay to have all of its supplies shipped to their sites, I would imagine that the price of guns will rise as much as anything else that is shipped via ground transport. Probably more if it is shipped by air.
